IES Powers Career Exploration Day: Inspired Future Professionals

Powering Possibilities

IES Nebraska offered 900 students a behind-the-curtains look at the electrical trade. Discover how the team inspired future professionals at the Kearney, NE Career Exploration Day.

Committed to inspiring the next generation of skilled professionals, IES Nebraska took part in an exciting Career Exploration Day in Kearney, Nebraska—a highly anticipated event that captured the attention of over 30 schools across the state. With more than 900 students attending, the event provided a unique opportunity for students to engage with seasoned industry professionals.

Although it was IES Nebraska’s first time attending, students flocked to the booth for an interactive electrical wiring demonstration, rating the IES Nebraska display among the most engaging booths present at the exploration fair. “It was a great way to show students what electricians do and give them a chance to take part in some hands-on activities,” said Mary McDermott, IES Nebraska HR Manager. Representing the division were Brittany Benge, HR; Justin Stoppkotte, Division Manager from the IES Nebraska Grand Island Branch; Mike LaFazia, Project Manager; and Spencer Robinson, CAD Specialist, all of whom were instrumental in delivering a captivating and personable IES Electrical pitch to students.

A remarkable experience for both IES and the 900 students, Career Exploration Day provided the invaluable space to cultivate early relationships with the next generation of talent. As we continue to POWER success, we are excited to enrich academic spaces with initiatives like these, fostering curiosity and shaping the future of electrical trade!
